Back to School Custom Backpack

So we bought a pair of awesome durable, 2 zipper compartment backpacks when were in India for the girls. They had an Indian cartoon character (I should share that image too) with a baby panda cartoon in a diaper. Well, my 1st grader wasn't feeling the diaper so we customiszed hers. we had to cut off the vinyl layer with the cartoon image, then we gessoed three layers, and then acrylic paint design with a clear gloss acrylic top coat and now she LOVES it.

Every Christmas a family member makes ornaments to give out. 2011 was my year. I took a log and sawed slices with the bark. added some acrylic, and eye hook, wire and ribbon.

Before and After Hallway Clutter

Front door hallway was a jumbled mess. Took the green dresser from our childhood crib bedroom set, painted it with white enamel and cut paper flowers inspired by the Polish paper art form called Wycinanki. Now drawers contain the mess-flip flops and sunblock in June; hats and mittens in January.
